About us
Wild Heritage Suffolk CIC - a garden for nature and for people

Who are we?
Wild Heritage Suffolk started out at Langham Walled Garden with the aim of promoting and selling heritage varieties of wild and cultivated flowers, vegetables and herbs. The walled garden was an idyllic setting for this project and permitted a varied and plentiful crop to sell both on site and at outside events. While the two founders, Catherine and Steve, have moved on they are still supporting WHS in the background. The project became a CIC when Warren appeared and offered his services to support the work. Warren remains a director and is now joined by former volunteer Richard and Lead Therapeutic Gardener Emmie. Strategic and Diversity support is provided by our consultant Danny.
What is a C.I.C?
A C.I.C is a Community Interest Company; a social enterprise that exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders.
At Wild Heritage Suffolk CIC, our aim is to create a safe and community=based vegetable and wildlife-friendly garden where people can volunteer, learn, socialise and enjoy themselves.

What do we do?
-
run volunteer days for everyone and anyone to come along and get stuck in
-
run nature-based courses for people referred by their GPs (social prescribing)
-
grow heritage varieties in a chemical-free and regenerative way
-
run events and workshops on cultivation and crafts.
How do we operate?
-
We aim to make our project as accessible as possible to everyone. We are still in the process of developing our new site so if you have any suggestions for making it more accessible please let us know!
-
While we are based at Oaks Meadow we are also able to bring our skills to other locations for group or organisations wanting to get involved with growing.
-
We have policies in place that help us to address safety, diversity, confidentiality and other concerns and which allow you to keep us accountable (see policy section)
-
We raise money through the funded nature-based courses and reasonably priced workshops we offer as well as through donations and grants for equipment
