Work With Us

Opportunities to get involved in community building and

growing with care as a

General Volunteer

Specialist Advisor

Director

We all get something from working as a team to achieve a vision - big or small.  We can offer social connection, healthy outdoor work, skill-building and the satisfaction of contributing to the welfare of people and place.

Choose your volunteer role

General Volunteer

This is a role for anyone who just wants to be a part of the team and no special skills are needed.  All you need is the desire to be outside and active.

If you do have some skills and experience in growing - whether it's a garden or a window box - that's good too!

All volunteers have a say in how the organisation is run and in the projects we work on and we take care of training, health and safety and accessibility.

Find out more below.

Specialist Advisor

You may have a particular skill and track record that would help us do what we do much better!

The sort of skills we are thinking of are in:

Networking

Administration

Management

Fundraising

Bid writing

Therapeutic work

- and of course:

Heritage knowledge

Ecosystem knowledge

Regenerative practice

Landscape development

Find out more below.

Director

We have a minimum number of directors at present and would like to build the directorship up to a maximum of 6.  This allows some flexibility in attendance.

Ideally, this role would also be combined with a specialist advisor role and of course is an opportunity to have a more active part in developing our CIC.

This comes with responsibilities which are equally shared amongst the directors and you can find further details of this and the role below.

Paid Work

Apart from our Horticultural lead all staff at Wild Heritage Suffolk are volunteers.

We are a trading company, however, and as such we aim to raise income from sales of activities and goods.  We are, therefore, able to subcontract work to those who are able to directly contribute to income generation and remunerate them at an agreed rate.  This could take the form of:

buying goods to sell on a sale or return basis

paying for the delivery of a workshop or talk

paying for the development of other income generating activities

Please contact us if you think you can assist us in this way
